In My Zone

Y'all, I was minding my own business the other day, riding around in my car listening to some good gospel music, totally in my zone. I pulled up to a red light, and I had a few seconds to just close my eyes soak in the words and let my spirit vibe. That song was speaking straight to my soul. Well... apparently somebody in the next lane was paying way too much attention to me. As soon as I opened my eyes, I caught a man in the car beside me lurking, staring right at me. He said, "Ma'am, I know you're feeling it, but open your eyes and drive!" Now, y'all know I couldn't just let that slide! I said, "And you need to tell whoever you're talking to stop screaming on that phone!" Honey, I had heard that woman yelling the entire time she was going completely off! But I was so locked in my spirit had completely drowned out all that drama. Green Light! Sometimes the world around us is loud chaotic and full of noises. But when you get so focused on your peace your spirit learns how to tune out the mess. We get so centered on what we're pushing through that the foolishness beside us doesn't even register anymore. We need those quiet moments in the middle of traffic or in the middle of a storm to block out the drama protect our energy and refocus our minds. Keep your spirit locked in on what matters. Now go pray through it...don't just go through it!
